GIANT SCALE IS BACK AT LIBERTY FIELD

Mike Shreve's 50cc ignition powered Sbach dwarfs Thomas's Ultimate behind it. Very professional maiden flight with spot landing right in front of the safety fence.

Julio preparing the Polaris

Andrew's Threefin, all power and no weight

A standard, Andrew's Ultra Stick. Ralph Grella also has one.

Steve showing no respect for the cold weather as his Tiger smokes down the field.

Greg Huffman with a Corsair ready for the maiden flight. Greg is a consultant to NASA on control systems.

Greg believes in simulator practice. Here comes the Corsair in an inverted flyby after only 3 flights

Ken's Frankenstein 2 built by Julio from miscellaneous body parts. The wing is from a Four Star 60 which gives it a very smooth flying characteristic.

Ken starts takeoff with Frank 2. It was eventually badly damaged after a radio failure. The engine shut down as intended when Tx signal is lost. Then all further control vanished. Retesting the radio immediately afterwards showed no problems  (naturally) including the throttle down on Tx shutoff. The mystery remains.

Merle with his new Battle Axe

Merle starting up the 109. It was fast!
